Infants and toddlers need responsive care giving, room to grow and a dependable schedule. Young children learn through play. The ITLP offers age appropriate activities, many choices in a large backyard for free active outdoor play, as well as music, stories and art activities. Yuvi plays the piano and the children learn songs and finger-plays. Each month there is a theme to help plan our program.
The Infant Toddler Learning Program is based on Ann Ceely’s concept of combining the best aspects of Family Childcare with some of the better features of preschools. Young children learn through play, interacting with responsive adults and caregiving routines.
Yuvi Ceely is the owner and Program Director. She has a bachelor's degree in engineering and certification from the Child Development Program at Santa Monica College. Yuvi is Ann's daughter-in-law and they have been working together for 10 years. Ann retired in 2020 and handed over the reins to Yuvi.
Ann has been an instructor in Early Childhood Education at Santa Monica College and UCLA - Education Extension. She mentors students from local programs to support the early childhood community.
Our philosophy includes the belief that eight hours is a long enough day for young children in group care. We realize this may not work for every family. We suggest that drop off and pick up could be the responsibility of more than one family member so parents are able to manage. It has been our experience that this benefits the child and the family.
